During today’s episode of CNN This Morning, host Kasie Hunt made a puzzling statement regarding the suspect in the recent assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump. Hunt stated, “We obviously don’t know very much at this point about a potential motive here. And we may never know about that.” This raises the question, was Hunt simply unaware of her own network’s reporting, or was she intentionally being obtuse?
It turns out that CNN had previously reported on the suspect’s motive, which appears to be related to Trump’s policies and his perceived threat to democracy. An article on CNN’s website titled “Man detained in apparent assassination attempt on Trump criticized former president on social media” reveals that the suspect had made a post on social media in which he accused Trump of wanting to “make Americans slaves again.”
In addition, the suspect stated in all caps that “DEMOCRACY is on the ballot and we cannot lose.” This language clearly suggests that the suspect views Trump as a threat to democracy and that he sees himself as part of the anti-Trump forces that must prevent him from being re-elected.
Interestingly, this theme of “democracy is on the ballot” is one that has been promoted by Democrats throughout this election. In fact, Vice President Kamala Harris even posted those exact words on her Facebook page. This further highlights the suspect’s motive as being rooted in his opposition to Trump and his policies.
Despite these clear indications of the suspect’s motive, CNN analyst Alex Thompson of Axios projected that Trump would use the assassination attempts against him to portray himself as a “martyr.” This seems to be a preemptive attempt to discredit Trump’s potential response to the incident, rather than acknowledging the suspect’s stated motives.
It’s worth noting that TIME magazine also tried to downplay the significance of the suspect’s motive, claiming that it was “unclear.” This raises further questions about the media’s reluctance to acknowledge the anti-Trump sentiment that seems to have motivated the suspect.
It is clear that the suspect in the recent assassination attempt against Trump had a motive that was tied to his opposition to Trump’s policies and his perception of Trump as a threat to democracy. The fact that this motive has been largely ignored or downplayed by the media is concerning and points to a bias in their reporting.
Instead of acknowledging the suspect’s motives, some in the media are already attempting to spin the narrative in a way that casts doubt on Trump’s potential response to the incident. This only serves to undermine the seriousness of the situation and perpetuates a divisive political atmosphere.
I hold next to zero confidence in the USSS or FBI in finding answers to any motives if criminals. At leas they didn’t kill this one, so there is a chance of getting some answers.
I’d make that the whole current government.
Routh’s motives for eliminating Trump are the very SAME motives that have been shouted by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for the last 4 years. Biden, Harris, Pelosi, Schumer, and of course their state-run media outlets CNN, MSNBC, ABC etc have all exclaimed MANY times that DJT and MAGA republicans are the “enemies” of democracy, should be “treated like terrorists”. Remember Biden’s eerie public address in Philadelphia in Sept ’22, with the blood red background lighting, where he called MAGA Republicans enemies? Biden said “Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic”
Ask no further about Routh’s motives. They are the same democrat party motives since 2015, and their agenda is in full motion.
Just another clown from the Clown News Network gumflapping.
