Fox News’ White House correspondent Peter Doocy did not hold back during a press briefing with White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Monday. Doocy directly confronted Jean-Pierre with the alarming statistic that 13,000 illegal immigrants convicted of homicide are currently roaming free in the United States, asking how much danger this poses to American communities.
Jean-Pierre immediately tried to downplay the situation, claiming that the data provided by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is a “false representation.” She dismissed the numbers as “misleading” and accused ICE of “lying” to the American people.
But Doocy wasn’t satisfied with this response. He pressed Jean-Pierre, asking again how much danger U.S. communities are in because of these convicted criminals roaming freely in the country. Jean-Pierre continued to deflect, stating that the data has been “fact-checked” and “debunked” by multiple outlets.
However, the reality is that over 13,000 illegal immigrants convicted of homicide are currently living among us. This is not a misleading number, but a shocking and alarming truth. And it’s not just homicide convictions – there are also over 15,000 illegal immigrants convicted of sexual assault and another 14,000 convicted of burglary. These are serious crimes that put American citizens in danger.
In fact, the total number of non-citizens with criminal histories currently on ICE’s national docket is over 662,000. And among those are 435,000 convicted criminals and another 226,000 with pending criminal charges. This is a crisis that cannot be ignored or downplayed.
Jean-Pierre also tried to shift the blame onto sanctuary cities, claiming that they are making it difficult for ICE agents to arrest these convicted criminals. But the fact is that these cities are ignoring detainer requests from ICE, putting their own political agendas above the safety and well-being of their citizens.
The situation is clear: illegal immigrants with criminal histories are freely roaming our streets, and it’s the policies and actions of the Biden administration that are enabling this dangerous situation. Under former President Trump, there was a strong stance and enforcement on immigration and border control. But under the current administration, illegal immigration has skyrocketed and the safety and security of American communities have been put at risk.
As Doocy pointed out, it is the duty of the government to protect its citizens, and it is unacceptable that the Biden administration is trying to downplay and dismiss this concerning statistic. The American people deserve to know the truth and expect their government to take action to address this crisis. It’s time for the Biden administration to prioritize the safety and security of American citizens and take action to secure our borders and prevent dangerous criminals from freely entering and living in our country.
