The View’s Joy Behar once again proved the liberal media’s desperation to attack President Donald Trump by dredging up the thoroughly discredited Atlantic story claiming he disparaged veterans as “suckers and losers.” Despite overwhelming denials from Trump’s aides and officials who were present during the 2018 trip to France, Behar shamelessly repeated the false narrative to criticize Trump’s well-received commencement speech at West Point.
“What I don’t understand is, according to [John] Kelly, [Trump] called our soldiers losers and suckers,” Behar ranted. “So why would they invite him to speak at West Point and wearing the [MAGA] hat was a political move, also. It’s politics, the hat is politics. It’s not about anything but that. So he’s supposed to be not political at West Point or Arlington Cemetery and there he is being political and rambling.”
The Atlantic’s 2020 report, authored by Jeffrey Goldberg, was immediately refuted by multiple firsthand witnesses, including then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former National Security Adviser John Bolton, and Trump aide Zach Fuentes, who explicitly stated, “I was actually there and one of the people part of the discussion—this never happened.” Even Trump’s political opponents, like former Vice President Mike Pence, dismissed the story as “utterly false.” Yet, Behar and her leftist cohorts continue peddling this debunked smear to undermine Trump’s unwavering support for the military.
Trump himself has vehemently denied the claims, saying, “I would swear on anything that I never said that about our fallen heroes.” The decision to skip the Aisne-Marne Cemetery visit was purely logistical due to bad weather, a fact confirmed by multiple officials. But the liberal media, allergic to facts, would rather cling to a fabricated story than acknowledge Trump’s record of honoring veterans, including signing the VA Accountability Act and modernizing the military.
Behar’s latest outburst is just another example of the left’s relentless propaganda machine. This is the same host who had to walk back her false claim that Elon Musk supported apartheid—only to be humiliated when evidence showed he attended an anti-apartheid concert. She also embarrassingly suggested Hillary Clinton won the 2016 election, proving her detachment from reality.
Meanwhile, Trump’s West Point speech was a powerful tribute to America’s future military leaders, emphasizing duty, honor, and patriotism—values the left routinely mocks. The audience’s enthusiastic response stood in stark contrast to the media’s manufactured outrage.
