In a bold move that exposed the depths of judicial corruption, President Donald Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi brilliantly outmaneuvered a cabal of activist judges to ensure Alina Habba remains in power as Acting US Attorney for New Jersey. This comes after a panel of Democrat-aligned federal judges—15 of whom were appointed by Obama and Biden—buckled under pressure from Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and attempted to oust Habba from her interim role.
The left’s desperation to remove Habba was blatantly political. After she indicted Democrat Rep. LaMonica McIver, Jeffries launched a full-court press to strongarm the judiciary into replacing her. On Tuesday, the activist judges caved, voting to install Desiree Leigh Grace—only for AG Bondi to immediately fire her. Then, in a masterstroke, Habba resigned as interim US Attorney before her term expired, Trump withdrew her nomination (to comply with the Federal Vacancies Reform Act), and Bondi appointed her as First Assistant US Attorney—automatically making her the Acting US Attorney due to the vacancy.
The so-called U.S. Attorney in NJ maliciously indicted Congresswoman LaMonica McIver for doing her job.
Alina Habba is a woefully unqualified political hack who has to go.
She must be rejected by the Federal District Court judges who are considering whether to retain her.…

The left’s meltdown was immediate. Politico’s Kyle Cheney whined, “The reason Trump has to withdraw her nomination is because the Federal Vacancies Reform Act prohibits the nominee for a Senate-confirmed office from holding the post on an ‘acting’ basis.” But this was no loophole—it was a perfectly legal checkmate against a corrupt judiciary.
Here's how it works:
1) Habba resigns as interim US attorney, ahead of a Friday deadline
2) Trump withdraws Habba's nomination to take the job permanently
3) AG Bondi appoints Habba First Assistant US attorney
4) Habba automatically becomes acting US attoreny bc of the vacancy.— Kyle Cheney (@kyledcheney) July 24, 2025
Mike Davis of the Article III Project didn’t hold back, filing a judicial complaint against the judges for their blatant partisanship: “These New Jersey activist judges—15 of whom were appointed by Obama and Biden—saluted. This violated Canons 2, 3, and 5 of the Code of Conduct for United States Judges.” The left’s weaponization of the courts has never been more obvious.

This is yet another example of President Trump’s unwavering commitment to draining the swamp. While the liberal media and Democrat operatives collude with activist judges to obstruct justice, Trump and his team continue to outplay them at every turn. The same left that screeched about “norms” and “institutions” has no problem weaponizing them when it suits their agenda.

Meanwhile, Alina Habba—a fierce defender of the rule of law—remains in place to continue holding corrupt politicians accountable. The left’s tantrum proves they fear her more than ever.
