Tucker Carlson and comedian Dave Smith wasted no time in criticizing Minnesota Governor Tim Walz on Tuesday’s episode of “The Tucker Carlson Show.” They took aim at Walz for his proposed 2021 taxes on cigarettes and vaping devices, accusing him of being “afraid of testosterone” and attempting to punish those with an “abundance” of it.
Carlson claimed that Walz, along with other Democratic politicians, have a fear of testosterone and are “against nicotine” because it “raises testosterone levels.” He also accused them of suppressing the fact that nicotine is not a carcinogen, stating that this information can be found if one were to do a Google search on the topic. According to Carlson, the reason behind this fear of testosterone is that it is a form of control over those who possess it.
Smith chimed in to acknowledge that anti-smoking taxes do work as an economic incentive to stop smoking. However, he questioned the inconsistent nature of targeting smoking for public health concerns while fast-food restaurants remain prevalent across the country. Smith described seeing fast-food chains “everywhere” during his travels, implying that obesity and lethargy are not seen as problematic by those in positions of power.
Carlson agreed, calling the prevalence of fast-food chains “disgusting.” He then offered an explanation to Smith’s question, stating that the true concern of those in authority is not health, but rather control. He argued that eliminating smoking and opposing AR-15s, are both attempts to control and suppress individual autonomy.
But the main focus of Carlson and Smith’s criticism was Walz’s proposed taxes on tobacco and vaping products. According to Americans for Tax Reform, Walz planned to increase taxes on tobacco and add a 95% sales tax on vaping devices. Smith pointed out the irony of targeting smoking and vaping to promote public health while fast-food chains continue to be widely accepted.
“You don’t have a problem with people being lethargic and obese. You have a problem with them smoking cigarettes. So what explains that?” Smith asked.
An attempted assassination, followed by a coup. It makes you wonder what’s next. Dave Smith has some ideas.

Carlson responded by reiterating his belief that it all comes down to control. The government, he claims, wants to suppress individual autonomy and will target anything that goes against their perceived control, whether it be smoking or owning AR-15s.
Overall, Carlson and Smith’s criticisms of Walz and his proposed taxes were centered on the belief that it is a form of control over individuals, rooted in a fear of testosterone. They argued that the focus on smoking and vaping for public health concerns is inconsistent and fails to address other prevalent health issues, such as obesity. In their eyes, this is yet another example of the government trying to exert control over its citizens.
That’s because Weasel Walz has none. He proved that he’s nothing but a coward.
