In a shocking undercover investigation by the O’Keefe Media Group, Albie Velarde, the Director of Casino Marketing at MGM Springfield, Massachusetts, was caught on camera admitting to discriminatory hiring practices against white candidates. Velarde, who openly bragged about prioritizing diversity over merit, stated, “No matter how great they [Whites] look on paper, they don’t fit well with my team.” This blatant admission of bias against white individuals is a glaring example of the toxic ideology of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) run amok in corporate America.
Velarde further revealed that MGM Resorts actively tracks the racial and gender composition of its workforce, with HR providing monthly reports on turnover rates. “At a [MGM] property level, HR sends us, every month when they send us our turnover summary of the month, they’ll point out this month we lost this amount of females versus males,” he said. These reports, according to Velarde, directly influence hiring decisions. “Hey guys, we’re losing all of our female workforce. Let’s try, you know, let’s put more females through the pipeline,” he explained.
The MGM marketing director also admitted to replacing employees based on race and gender rather than qualifications. “So like if I lose one of my female hosts, I would try to replace her with a female,” Velarde said. He even singled out a specific employee, stating, “Selena, she’s my Vietnamese host, she’s very reserved, she’s very quiet. But that’s her culture. I would replace her with somebody who is, in some capacity, that culture.” This kind of racial and gender-based hiring is not only unethical but also illegal under federal anti-discrimination laws.
MGM Resorts, in response to the O’Keefe Media Group’s findings, attempted to distance itself from Velarde’s comments, claiming, “This person did not have hiring authority during his employment at MGM Springfield and these comments do not reflect the company’s policies or practices.” However, this statement raises more questions than it answers. If Velarde did not have hiring authority, why was he involved in discussions about replacing employees based on race and gender? And if these practices do not reflect MGM’s policies, why are HR reports tracking racial and gender turnover rates being used to influence hiring decisions?
This scandal is yet another example of how liberal ideologies have infiltrated corporate America, prioritizing identity politics over meritocracy. The DEI agenda, which has been championed by the left, is nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to discriminate against certain groups while favoring others. It is a direct attack on the principles of fairness and equality that this nation was founded upon.

President Donald Trump, a staunch opponent of such divisive policies, has consistently advocated for a merit-based system where individuals are judged on their skills and abilities, not their race or gender. His administration worked tirelessly to dismantle the toxic DEI programs that have poisoned institutions across the country. This latest revelation from MGM Resorts underscores the importance of continuing that fight.

The liberal media, which often turns a blind eye to such blatant discrimination when it targets white individuals, would undoubtedly be up in arms if the roles were reversed. Their silence on this issue speaks volumes about their hypocrisy and double standards.
