Fox News host Laura Ingraham recently blasted President Joe Biden as “disturbing” for repeatedly lying about the death of his eldest son, Beau, including when speaking to Gold Star families.
Biden’s son, Joe “Beau” Biden III, passed away in 2015 after being diagnosed with brain cancer. But Biden has incorrectly told stories that his son was killed “in Iraq” while serving in the military, which Ingraham calls “disturbing”. Compounding the issue, Ingraham criticized Biden for frequently invoking his personal loss for political points.
Ingraham highlighted a conversation Biden had with Cheryl Rex, whose son Marine Lance Cpl. Dylan Merola had died in Afghanistan. Rex described being shocked when Biden told her that he understood her pain as he had brought his own son home in a flag-draped coffin.
The Fox host also noted how Biden had treated Sergeant Tyler Vargas- Andrews, who lost an arm in the same withdrawal. Vargas-Andrews recalled how Biden had made him and his family wait four hours without an explanation, before suddenly appearing in front of him, attempting to shake his right hand despite it no longer being there. Afterward, Vargas-Andrews says he felt confused when Biden began talking about his own son.
Ingraham slammed Biden for not being held accountable by the legacy media for his lies, noting that former President Donald Trump never received such leniency.
Whether Biden’s lies are related to a political agenda or just a case of Biden not facing any consequences for his words, this demonstrates a troubling disrespect for the loss felt by Gold Star families. Biden’s behavior is particularly troubling when it concerns his son, as it suggests that the former Vice President is using his personal tragedy for personal gain. Ingraham is right to call out Biden for such damaging behavior.
Do you think she said anything wrong? I don’t. I haven’t seen anyone hold Biden accountable.
