Jacqui Heinrich’s questioning of White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Tuesday afternoon exposed the reluctance of the Biden-Harris administration to fully address criticism over anti-Semitism among some Democrats. When Heinrich asked if the White House had “condemned” Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal’s remarks that Israel was “a racist state”, Jean-Pierre would merely state, “[t]he apology was the right thing to do.”
Heinrich pressed further, calling out the lack of a “yes or no” and the perception that Democrats were reluctant to punish their own for controversial comments: “[t]here has been criticism that Democrats don’t want to take action against other Democrats when they have to apologize for something like this.” To this, Jean-Pierre merely repeated, “[w]e just said that we’re glad that she apologized.”
The White House’s reluctance to condemn anti-Semitism was further exposed by the same pattern of responses to a question on the House of Representative’s resolution saying that Israel is not a racist state or an apartheid state. Jean-Pierre was unable to muster a yes or no answer to the simple question, merely restating that the “President has been very clear” on the US and Israel’s ‘special bond’.
This unwillingness to unequivocally condemn anti-Semitism was further highlighted in another exchange with Yahoo News’ Alexander Nazaryan, over comments made by Congresswoman Cori Bush that Israel had “no respect for human rights”. Again, Jean-Pierre refused to offer a White House condemnation, instead choosing to focus on President Joe Biden’s “longstanding relationship with Israel.”
The Biden-Harris Administration’s failure to specify positions on controversial topics isn’t limited to anti-Semitism. When asked about “ Houston Chronicle report[ing] that Texas troopers were told to push migrant children into the Rio Grande River”, Jean-Pierre had a prepared series of attacks on Governor Greg Abbott, expressing these incidents were “abhorrent”, “despicable”, and “indecent.”
However, when questioned further on “verify[ing] these reports” and taking action, she had nothing to offer other than repeating her earlier criticism of Abbott.
This shows that while the Biden-Harris White House is quick to attack individuals from outside their party, they have consistently failed to take real and meaningful action on important topics.
The handling of the anti-Semitism among some Democrats, as well as their failure to provide specific answers to allegations is indicative of the White House’s reluctance to fully address these difficult topics.
BUYDEN is anti-JEW, change my mind
Didn’t Obama and Biden disrespect Netanyahu when he visited the Not So White House? Didn’t they showed him out the BACK DOOR? Let’s see. Wasn’t the KLAN the Poster Children of Antisemitism? Weren’t Southern DEMOCRATS the Primary Members of the KLAN? The democrats do LOVE the Money the Jews in America give them! By the way, I do NOT believe that the Democrat Party CARES about BLACKS other than needing their Votes. All they want to do is Divide Our Country and turn it into a Socialistic Garbage Dump!
Biden’s little stooge doesn’t give straight answers to questions that expose them for who and what they are.
KJP is too mentally slow to give an adult answer with her low IQ and Biden IS anti-Jew because he was told to be. His brain doesn’t function on it’s own either.
So sad the Democrats hate Jews! The real bad part is the lies and coverups from this White House. These press conferences are so full of lies and BS!!!
