Instead of addressing the very real crime crisis plaguing Washington, DC, Giridharadas downplayed the issue, claiming he’s more afraid of climate change, losing his vote, and other progressive boogeymen than becoming a victim of violent crime. His dismissive attitude toward public safety is a perfect example of how out-of-touch the liberal media has become.
During his appearance, Giridharadas admitted that crime is “real” but insisted it’s “blown out of proportion,” arguing that people feel “much more unsafe than they statistically are.” While he acknowledged that safety concerns matter, he quickly pivoted to accusing conservatives—and specifically President Donald Trump—of exploiting crime for “authoritarian purposes.” This is the same tired rhetoric the left uses to deflect from the failures of Democrat-run cities, where soft-on-crime policies have led to soaring violence.
Even more absurd was Giridharadas’ attempt to redirect fear toward climate change, voting rights, and the so-called threat to the middle class—issues the left has weaponized to push their radical agenda. His claim that he’s more afraid of “losing his vote” than being robbed in DC is laughable, especially given the Biden administration’s disastrous policies that have weakened election integrity. His climate fearmongering is equally baseless, considering the U.S. has made tremendous environmental progress under President Trump’s energy policies, which balanced economic growth with responsible stewardship.
The MSNBC contributor even dredged up the January 6th hoax, calling it DC’s “one really big crime problem,” while ignoring the daily robberies, carjackings, and assaults plaguing the nation’s capital. This is the same liberal media that spent years amplifying every anti-Trump conspiracy while turning a blind eye to left-wing violence and urban decay.

Giridharadas’ rant was so disconnected from reality that even Joe Scarborough tried to salvage the segment—unsuccessfully. The fact that MSNBC gives a platform to such delusional commentary proves it’s not a news network but a propaganda arm for the far left. Democrats who rely on MSNBC for information are being fed a steady diet of hysterical narratives designed to distract from their own failures.
Meanwhile, President Trump continues to champion law and order, energy independence, and policies that actually protect the middle class—unlike the left, which abandoned working Americans long ago in favor of woke ideology and climate alarmism.
