MSNBC’s Pathetic Pick: Sports Guy for Econ Analysis- Huge FAIL! [Video]

In a move that perfectly encapsulates the liberal media’s disdain for genuine expertise and their obsession with celebrity-driven commentary, MSNBC’s Morning Joe leaned on former ESPN personality Pablo Torre to provide economic analysis. The segment, hosted by Katty Kay, bizarrely tasked a sports podcaster with dissecting complex matters of Federal Reserve policy and immigration enforcement—proving once again that when it comes to substantive discourse, the left would rather platform entertaining voices than informed ones.

Substitute host Katty Kay invited Torre to weigh in on two critical issues: President Trump’s justified effort to remove Lisa Cook from the Federal Reserve and his strong plan to deploy federal agents to Chicago to arrest unauthorized immigrants. Kay even asked Torre to explain, “why, in response to Trump’s efforts to remove Cook, the dollar and the markets haven’t tanked in the way that some people thought they might be?” This line of questioning reveals the network’s true desire: not analysis, but a hope for market collapse that could be blamed on President Trump.

Torre’s response was a “meandering mess,” as he fumbled through mentions of “lag” in policy impact. The only lag he should be discussing, as the article rightly notes, is “the lag in the golf downswing.” Torre himself admitted to feeling like he’s taking “crazy pills, again,” and incongruently concluded with a Ronald Reagan quote: “trust but verify.” This painful display underscores the intellectual bankruptcy of a media ecosystem that prioritizes woke credentials over actual knowledge.

The segment then descended into sheer pathos, with Torre lamenting, “In New York by myself on a Friday before Labor Day weekend. It’s very lonely here.” Kay offered hollow sympathy, replying, “I’m so sorry you’re all alone. It does something to you, being solitary up in the studio. I know we won’t forget you, Pablo.” This cringe-worthy exchange is what passes for substantive content on a network that has fully abandoned journalism in favor of performative emoting.

One can only imagine the reaction of the other panelists, seasoned journalists like Sam Stein and David Ignatius, who must have been inwardly groaning at the spectacle of a sports commentator being asked to opine on subjects far beyond his understanding. This incident is a microcosm of the liberal media’s failure: they are so blinded by their hatred for President Trump’s America First agenda that they will platform anyone, no matter how unqualified, who might parrot their anti-Trump narrative. Meanwhile, President Trump’s policies continue to demonstrate their strength, with the markets remaining resilient despite the left’s desperate hopes for failure.
