The liberal media’s obsession with smearing conservatives as “white supremacists” reached a new low on CNN when Republican strategist Scott Jennings dismantled panelist Jay Michaelson’s deranged accusations that the Republican Party and the Trump administration embrace bigotry. The exchange, which quickly went viral, exposed the left’s desperation to deflect from the real issue—rampant antisemitism on college campuses—by hurling baseless insults at conservatives who dare to stand up for Jewish students.
Jennings, a seasoned political commentator, rightly pointed out that President Donald Trump’s administration was the first to take decisive action against antisemitic harassment at elite universities like Harvard, threatening to withhold federal funds if these institutions failed to protect Jewish students. Yet, instead of acknowledging this strong stance, Michaelson resorted to hysterical smears, shouting over Jennings with absurd claims about “white supremacists” in the GOP and even invoking debunked conspiracy theories about Elon Musk giving a “Sieg Heil salute.”
“You guys are nowhere—you have white supremacists in your party and in your administration,” Michaelson ranted, to which Jennings fired back: “You sound unhinged. You sound crazy.” The CNN panelist’s meltdown was a perfect example of how the liberal media operates—when they can’t argue facts, they resort to name-calling and wild accusations.
The reality is that President Trump has been one of the most pro-Israel and pro-Jewish leaders in modern history. His administration moved aggressively to combat campus antisemitism, while Democrats and their media allies turned a blind eye to the harassment of Jewish students by pro-Hamas mobs. The Trump White House even revoked the green card of Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University protest leader with ties to extremism—an action the Biden administration would never have taken.
Meanwhile, Trump’s own family includes Jewish members—Ivanka Trump converted to Judaism, and Jared Kushner’s faith has been central to their family life. The idea that Trump or his administration tolerates antisemitism is not just false—it’s a malicious lie pushed by left-wing activists who can’t stand his unwavering support for Israel.
The CNN segment was yet another example of how the liberal media manufactures outrage to distract from their own failures. While conservatives fight for the safety of Jewish students, Democrats and their allies in the press would rather demonize Republicans than address the real problem.
