Secret Service Refused to Respond to “Insider Threat” at Agency, Retaliated Against Whistleblower

The U.S. Secret Service, the agency tasked with protecting the President and other top officials, is embroiled in yet another scandal—one that exposes shocking negligence and potential dangers lurking within its ranks. According to a bombshell report by RealClearPolitics’ Susan Crabtree, the Secret Service ignored a glaring insider threat during the Biden administration and retaliated against the whistleblower who dared to speak up. This comes less than a year after two assassination attempts against President Donald Trump—first in Butler, Pennsylvania (July 13), and later at Mar-a-Lago (September 15)—raising serious questions about the agency’s competence and political biases.

Failed Polygraph, Insider Threat—And Still Hired?

The whistleblower, a 20-year veteran of the Secret Service, revealed that the agency hired an applicant who failed the terrorism section of the polygraph test—a standard disqualifier for most applicants. However, due to a dangerous “friends and family” loophole, this individual was allowed to retake the test multiple times and was ultimately hired. Even more alarming, this same person was later placed in a position to evaluate security clearances for other agents, putting the entire agency—and the leaders it protects—at risk.

Instead of investigating this clear and present danger, the Secret Service retaliated against the whistleblower, forcing him to resign and now threatening to revoke his security clearance if he doesn’t drop his legal complaints. As Crabtree reported:

“Instead of investigating the individual for posing a potential threat to the agency and the top U.S. officials it protects, including the president and the vice president, the agent alleges he was retaliated against and forced to resign after serving more than 20 years in the Secret Service.”

No Mental Health Screenings—A Disaster Waiting to Happen

Adding to the agency’s failures, the whistleblower also exposed that the Secret Service—unlike the FBI, CIA, and most police departments—does not require mental health screenings for applicants. This reckless policy may explain why agents with violent tendencies and psychological instability have repeatedly slipped through the cracks.

Just last year, Kamala Harris’ Secret Service agent, Michelle Herczeg, went on a violent rampage at Joint Base Andrews, attacking fellow agents, throwing menstrual pads, and even deleting apps from a male agent’s phone before being physically restrained. As reported:

“Herczeg then chest-bumped and shoved her superior, then tackled him and punched him. The agents involved in restraining Herczeg were especially concerned because she still had her gun in the holster. They wrestled her to the ground, took the gun from her, cuffed her, and then removed her from the terminal.”

Liberal Media’s Deafening Silence

Where is the outrage from the mainstream media? If this had happened under Trump, CNN and The New York Times would be running 24/7 coverage demanding accountability. But because it occurred under Biden, the story has been buried. The liberal press would rather attack Trump—who survived two assassination attempts—than hold the Biden administration accountable for endangering national security.

President Trump has long warned about the deep state’s corruption and the weaponization of federal agencies. This scandal proves he was right. The Secret Service must be cleaned out, starting with those who allowed an insider threat to fester and punished the patriot who exposed it.
