As devastating floods continue to ravage parts of Texas, Congressman Chip Roy (R-TX) appeared on Fox News Sunday with Shannon Bream to highlight the extraordinary acts of heroism and faith that have emerged from the tragedy—elements largely ignored by the liberal media in their relentless pursuit of political division. While left-wing outlets focus on finger-pointing and manufactured outrage, Roy emphasized the real story: the courage of everyday Americans and the unwavering support from leaders like President Donald Trump.
“Thanks for all the outpouring of support and prayer from all over the country. I am deeply appreciative of the President of the United States coming to our district, coming to Kerrville on Friday. I was proud to be down there touring the grounds with him,” Roy told Bream. Unlike the previous administration, which often treated disaster zones as mere photo ops, President Trump’s swift response and genuine concern for Texans stand in stark contrast to the empty rhetoric of the left.
Roy also called out the media’s obsession with politicizing tragedy, stating, “I think the real story is not all the finger-pointing that the media wants to point to, it’s the heroism of those who showed up.” He praised local first responders, including the Kerrville Sheriff, and highlighted the role of faith in uniting the community. “When you drive into Kerrville, Shannon, there is an enormous cross on the hill. And if you ask me what the story of this whole tragedy is, it’s the cross and it’s the power of the cross that people, these families that have had a strong and enduring faith.”
While liberal networks downplay the resilience of conservative communities, Roy underscored how faith and solidarity have provided hope amid despair. “It is a powerful testimony to the gospel of Christ and how a community can come together in strength through tragedy, even as we mourn.”

Bream echoed Roy’s sentiments, noting, “We have heard story after story of heroes there. You have mentioned so many of them from these camp counselors, to the first responders, to everyday Texans, who we know are just showing up with whatever they have.” Yet, these stories of American grit and compassion rarely make headlines on CNN or MSNBC, which would rather amplify divisive narratives than celebrate the nation’s unity under strong leadership.
Roy also called for continued support for flood victims, urging, “Please keep contributing, please keep the prayers coming. The outpouring of support has been extraordinary.” While the left sows chaos, conservatives—led by President Trump—deliver real action and compassion.
