In recent years, there has been a growing outcry against the implementation of so-called diversity, equity, and inclusion policies. And it’s not without reason. As one incident in California proves, these policies have far-reaching consequences – ones that can be disastrous for society as a whole.
This story was told several years ago by comedian and podcast host Adam Carolla, during his congressional testimony. He revealed that he had once applied to become a firefighter in Los Angeles, only to be told that he would have to wait seven years to even take the test, solely because of his race and gender.
For most reasonable people, the idea of political correctness taking precedence over the safety and well-being of the community is absurd. And yet, this seems to be the reality in the city of Los Angeles.
In his testimony, Carolla expressed his frustration, saying, “Geez. I want to talk about my white privilege so badly. I graduated from North Hollywood High with a 1.7 GPA and could not find a job. I walked to a fire station, and they said, ‘No, because you’re not black, Hispanic, or a woman, and we’ll see you in about seven years.'”
He went on to share a shocking interaction he had with a young woman of color who was standing behind him in line. When he asked her when she signed up to become a firefighter, she replied, “Wednesday.” In other words, she was able to secure a job immediately because of her minority status, while Carolla, a qualified and capable candidate, was told to wait for years simply because of his race and gender.
This is a clear example of how these policies are destructive. It’s not surprising that areas in California are now struggling with a shortage of firefighters. When qualified individuals are turned away in favor of meeting diversity quotas, it only puts the safety and well-being of the community at risk.
California is on fire because of DEI@adamcarolla applied to be a fireman in LA and was told to wait 7 years to test because he’s white

DEI ruins every agency and institution it touches.

But despite the looming consequences, these policies continue to be championed by liberal media and government officials, who seem more interested in appearing politically correct than in actually solving problems. It’s time for society to wake up and realize that these policies do more harm than good.

With wildfires ravaging California and other natural disasters becoming more frequent, it’s clear that diversity and inclusion policies have failed. How long will we let political correctness put our communities in danger? Adam Carolla’s story is just one example of the madness of these policies. Stop playing politics with people’s lives. Fired up over firefighters: the detriments of diversity quotas. Mugged by minority hire: Adam Carolla’s testimony turns heads.
