Watch: Hegseth Goes Scorched Earth On Lying Media Nuts

In a blistering takedown of The Atlantic’s latest anti-Trump hit piece, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth dismantled the baseless claims of Jeffrey Goldberg, the magazine’s discredited editor-in-chief, who alleged that top Trump administration officials carelessly shared classified military strategies in a private Signal chat.

Goldberg, a serial peddler of anti-Trump hoaxes, concocted a wild story about being “accidentally” added to a secure group chat with officials like National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President J.D. Vance, and Hegseth himself—supposedly revealing sensitive details about strikes against Iran-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen.

But as usual, Goldberg’s narrative crumbles under scrutiny. This is the same “journalist” who pushed the debunked “suckers and losers” lie, the “fine people” hoax, and the endless Russia collusion fantasy. Now, he’s spinning a tale about stumbling into a high-level war-planning discussion, claiming he received a Signal invite from Waltz on March 11 before being added to the alleged “Houthi PC small group” on March 13—just days before U.S. forces launched devastating strikes against Houthi targets.

Hegseth’s Fiery Rebuttal

After landing at Pearl Harbor, Hegseth didn’t hold back when pressed by reporters about Goldberg’s absurd allegations.

Reporter: “Your information about war plans against the Houthis in Yemen was shared with a journalist at The Atlantic. Were those details classified?”

Sec. Hegseth: “You’re talking about a deceitful and highly discredited so-called journalist who’s made a profession of peddling hoaxes time and time again, including the hoaxes of Russia, Russia, Russia, the ‘fine people on both sides’ hoax, and the ‘Suckers and Losers’ hoax. This is the guy that peddles in garbage. This is what he does.”

Hegseth then shifted focus to the Trump administration’s decisive actions against the Houthis, contrasting it with the weakness of the previous administration:

“I would love to comment on the Houthi campaign because of the skill and courage of our troops. I’ve monitored it very closely from the beginning. We’ve been managing four years of deferred maintenance under the Trump administration. Our troops and sailors were getting shot at as targets. Our ships couldn’t sail through. And when they did shoot back, it was purely defensively or at shacks in Yemen. President Trump said, ‘No more. We will reestablish deterrence, open freedom of navigation, and ultimately decimate the Houthis,’ which is exactly what we’re doing as we speak from the beginning, overwhelmingly.”

When pressed further about the Signal chat, Hegseth shut down the narrative with a definitive denial:

Reporter: “Why were those details shared on Signal? And how did you learn that a journalist was privy to the targets, the types of weapons used, and the timing?”

Sec. Hegseth: “I’ve heard that was characterized. Nobody was texting war plans, and that’s all I have to say about that. Alright, I appreciate it. That’s it.”

President Trump’s Response

Even President Trump, when asked about the incident, dismissed The Atlantic as a failing outlet desperate for relevance:

President Trump: “I don’t know anything about it. I’m not a big fan of The Atlantic. To me, it’s a magazine that’s going out of business. I think it’s not much of a magazine, but I know nothing about it. You’re saying that they had what? The Houthis? You mean the attack on the Houthis? Well, it couldn’t have been very effective because the attack was very effective, I can tell you that. I don’t know anything about it. You’re telling me about it for the first time.”

The Liberal Media’s Desperation

This latest smear is just another example of the liberal media’s obsession with undermining President Trump and his administration. Instead of celebrating the successful strikes against Houthi terrorists—who have threatened global shipping and attacked U.S. forces—outlets like The Atlantic would rather fabricate scandals to distract from Trump’s strong leadership.

Goldberg’s track record speaks for itself: he’s a partisan hack who will twist any story to fit his anti-Trump agenda. Meanwhile, the Trump administration continues to deliver real results, from restoring military deterrence to crushing terrorist threats.
