Joy Reid, known for her liberal viewpoints, recently broke down in tears as she addressed the cancellation of her MSNBC show, “The ReidOut.” The news, which was first reported by The Gateway Pundit, comes as a blow to Reid, who has long championed various leftist causes on her platform. Her show, which is set to air its final episode this week, will be replaced by a program featuring Symone Sanders Townsend, Michael Steele, and Alicia Menendez. This lineup seems to continue MSNBC’s trend of pushing a liberal narrative.
In a video released on Monday, Reid was visibly emotional, struggling to maintain her composure as she addressed her show’s cancellation. Initially, she tried to hold back tears, saying, “My show had value… And that,” before breaking down. Displaying a sense of self-congratulation, Reid insisted, “What I was doing had value.”
Throughout her emotional address, Reid highlighted various far-left issues her show championed, such as supporting the Black Lives Matter movement and advocating against what she perceived as systemic injustice. “What I will just say is that in the end,” she continued, “Is where I land is that the moment of guilt that I felt that I went hard on so many issues, whether it was the Black Lives Matter images of a young baby or a mom or dad that was killed.”
Reid continued to commend her own efforts, patting herself on the back for standing up for Asian Americans facing discrimination, defending the rights of illegal immigrants, and frequently criticizing President Trump. She also took a moment to address the controversial 1619 Project, labeling it “the real founding of this country,” thereby aligning herself with its highly criticized reinterpretation of American history.
Turning her attention to international affairs, Reid openly sided with Hamas in the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, expressing her sympathy for what she calls “the Jewish State’s oppressors.” She stated, “The American people have a right to object to little babies being bombed.” Reid justified her stance, claiming, “I’m not sorry that I stood up for those things because those things are of God, and I’m a church girl.”

Continuing with her self-praise, she concluded, “So, I’m not sorry. I’m just proud of my show.” Reid’s departure from MSNBC is perhaps a much-needed shift away from an overly liberal media landscape. Her emotional farewell signals a potential recalibration for MSNBC, but it’s evident that Reid remains committed to her divisive perspectives.
She reaps what she sows.
