Watch: RFK Claps Back At Former Running Mate For Saying He is Controlled

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. forcefully dismissed allegations from his former running mate, Nicole Shanahan, who claimed that an unnamed figure was “controlling his decisions”—while explicitly stating it wasn’t President Donald Trump. During a Thursday interview on Fox News, Kennedy reaffirmed his autonomy, declaring that his policy decisions are guided solely by evidence-based science and the America First agenda set by President Trump.

Shanahan’s wild accusations came after Trump nominated Dr. Casey Means as Surgeon General—a move she bizarrely framed as a betrayal. “I was promised that if I supported RFK Jr. in his Senate confirmation that neither of these siblings would be working under HHS or in an appointment (and that people much more qualified would be),” Shanahan wrote in a since-deleted post. She then escalated her rhetoric, suggesting Kennedy was being manipulated by shadowy forces: “It has been clear in recent conversations that he is reporting to someone regularly who is controlling his decisions (and it isn’t President Trump). With regards to the siblings, there is something very artificial and aggressive about them, almost like they were bred and raised Manchurian assets.”

Kennedy swiftly shut down the conspiracy-laden claims, reaffirming his loyalty to President Trump’s mission of draining the swamp and restoring integrity to federal health agencies. “My decisions at HHS are my own, grounded in science and the President’s directives to root out corruption,” Kennedy stated. The liberal media, however, seized on Shanahan’s remarks to push yet another baseless smear against Trump’s administration, attempting to paint Kennedy as compromised—a tired tactic from the same outlets that spent years pushing Russiagate hoaxes.

This isn’t the first time Kennedy has faced outlandish allegations. In March 2025, conservative commentator Candace Owens alleged on her YouTube podcast that Kennedy was ensnared in an “elaborate sexual blackmail scheme” involving journalist Olivia Nuzzi and blogger Jessica Reed Kraus. Nuzzi, who reportedly had a “digital affair” with Kennedy in 2024, allegedly sent him explicit photos despite being engaged. Meanwhile, Kraus—a known supporter of Ghislaine Maxwell—has been spotted around the White House due to her ties to Kennedy.

The liberal media’s obsession with Kennedy’s personal life reeks of desperation. Rather than focusing on the Trump administration’s historic achievements—like slashing drug prices, dismantling deep-state corruption, and restoring medical transparency—they peddle salacious gossip to distract from their own failures. President Trump’s leadership remains unwavering, and his allies, including Kennedy, are committed to delivering real results for the American people.
