Audrey McNeal, a 22-year-old former Democratic National Convention (DNC) delegate, has officially rejected the Democratic Party and joined the Republican Party. Throughout her political journey, McNeal had been a firm believer in the Democratic Party’s values and was elected as a DNC delegate for both the 2020 and 2024 elections. However, her recent experiences have led her to become disillusioned and ultimately switch parties to support the Trump-Vance ticket.
In a video released Friday, McNeal expressed her reasons for leaving the Democratic Party. She shared that she had joined the DNC in hopes of finding answers on issues such as free speech, border security, and the economy. However, her time at the DNC made her realize that the party had strayed from its original values and beliefs.
McNeal was particularly disappointed by the DNC’s decision to endorse Kamala Harris as the presidential nominee after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race. Despite calls for an open primary process, Democratic leaders opted to install Harris as the top of their 2024 ticket. McNeal saw this as a betrayal of the democratic process and felt that the decision was made in secret, without the input of the people.
As McNeal stated, “For the rulers of the Democratic Party elite to install Kamala Harris as the presidential nominee via stripping the vote of 14 million Americans, including their own delegates such as myself, well that was a decision in a transaction that was concealed.” She felt that this decision went against the principles of the party and was a clear indication of its shift towards authoritarianism.
In her video, McNeal announced that she has officially joined the Republican Party as a constitutional conservative. She now sees the Republican Party as the true defender of free speech and civil liberties, unlike the Democratic Party.
I was a lifelong democrat, elected to the DNC twice.

Since joining the Republican Party, McNeal has been an active supporter of President Trump. She recently shared a video teasing Trump’s appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, accompanying it with a quote by US Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis on the importance of free speech.
McNeal’s switch to the Republican Party serves as a wake-up call for Gen Z and other young voters who may have blindly supported the Democratic Party. As McNeal herself had said in an earlier interview, being among other young delegates at the DNC was “empowering.” However, it became clear to her that the party no longer represented the values and beliefs of younger generations.

McNeal’s rejection of the Democratic Party and support for Trump and the Republican Party is a significant move in the current political landscape. Her decision highlights the growing disillusionment with the Democratic Party among young voters and serves as a reminder that the fight for free speech and civil liberties is far from over.
She Gets IT how many more do in Gen Z
Unfortunately, a large percentage of Gen Z, especially female, are voting blue.
