A federal court in Canada has delivered a stinging blow to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, ruling that his use of the Emergencies Act to suppress trucker protests in 2022 was illegal and unconstitutional. The judicial review, released on Tuesday, slammed Trudeau’s actions as unjustified and unreasonable.
According to the Canadian Constitutional Foundation (CCF), Justice Richard Mosley, who presided over the case, declared that Trudeau’s decision to utilize the Emergencies Act to quell the demonstrations was “not justified” and lacked transparency and intelligibility.
In his scathing judgment, Mosley stated that there was no national emergency that warranted such an extreme measure, and therefore, Trudeau’s move was “not justified in relation to the relevant factual and legal constraints.”
Trudeau’s actions, which included arresting protesters and freezing their bank accounts, were a blatant violation of their freedom of expression and assembly. The truckers, who were part of the “Freedom Convoy,” were expressing their discontent with the government’s COVID-19 lockdown restrictions and vaccine mandates when they were met with forceful actions from the authorities.
The decision by the federal court comes as a victory for two advocacy groups, the CFF and the Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA), who challenged the Emergencies Act in court. Both organizations welcomed Mosley’s ruling, which overturns a previous court decision that had upheld Trudeau’s use of the Act.
The Canadian government has announced plans to appeal the court’s decision, claiming that the Emergencies Act was implemented to protect the country’s “national security.” Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland defended the government’s actions, saying they were taken seriously and were deemed necessary at the time.
She also expressed her continued support for Trudeau, despite his plummeting popularity among Canadians.
But the numbers don’t lie…
Trudeau’s approval ratings have hit an all-time low, with a staggering 64% of Canadians disapproving of his leadership. As calls for his resignation grow stronger, Trudeau shows no signs of stepping down, despite a majority of Canadians believing that he should.
Canada’s foreign ministry, which is headed by Trudeau, has remained silent on the court’s ruling, raising questions about the government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting citizens’ rights. This decision not only reflects poorly on Trudeau’s leadership abilities but also paints a concerning picture of the state of democracy in Canada.
Many of us argued all along the government broke the law when they invoked the Emergencies Act. We should feel vindicated today, and grateful for the dogged determination of organizations like @CDNConstFound and @cancivlib pursuing this in Federal Court. https://t.co/C3DuqsdJDS

I think it’s time for Trudeau to listen to the voices of the people and step down from his position of power, for the sake of the country’s future. As Ipsos states, “it’s time for Trudeau to recognize he’s not wanted,” and the Canadian people deserve a leader who respects their rights and upholds the rule of law.
VICTORY FOR Convoy group Hooray
I wonder what Canada does with traitors? I know that in the USA we used to hang them. No days we allow them to steal elections.
The little sniveling, communist puke deserves the guillotine treatment.
So What? The protest is over – Trudeau violated the Constitution. Will anyone get any money back? Will he be punished? Will anything change? I doubt it. People like Trudeau don’t care about the law. They have bought and paid for judges to let them off the hook. He will do as he pleases again!! Wait and see.
Tru nothing not even deau Pfft on limp wrist communists
Good job court for standing against the commie.
PM Trudeau(Castro) is an authoritarian dictator and needs to be slapped down. I hope the truckers receive millions for what Trudeau(Castro) did to them.
I wonder just how many Canadian citizens omitted suicide because of his rats assed commie mandates and breaking Constitutional laws of Canada?
Remember the blow up punching bags that used to have a clown printed on it we got as kids? Those with Justin Castro’s likeness on it. 64% of Canada would be the target group aimed for. And if only 10% of them bought one that would still be millions of Canadian dollars profit margin. And you know more then 10% would get one.
