Once again, the liberal media is at it again, trying to spin the narrative to fit their agenda. During a White House press briefing, CNN’s MJ Lee pressed Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on why the Biden administration has suddenly stopped calling President Trump an “existential threat” now that he has been re-elected for a second term in 2024. Lee questioned why the president has remained silent on this issue since the election, despite constantly vilifying Trump during his campaign. But Jean-Pierre quickly defended the switch in rhetoric, citing the need for a peaceful transition of power and the respect for the will of the American people.
But this sudden change in tune begs the question: did Joe Biden ever truly believe that Trump was a threat to democracy in the first place? It seems like a convenient flip-flop now that Trump has been declared the winner of the 2024 election. The press secretary may claim that Biden’s beliefs have not changed, but actions speak louder than words. And it seems like the Biden administration is more concerned with maintaining their image as leaders of peace and unity, rather than actually standing up against any supposed threats to our democracy.
Throughout his time in office, Biden has repeatedly accused Trump and his supporters of being “an extremist threat to our democracy.” In fact, just two weeks before the election, the White House’s official stance was that Trump was a “fascist.” But now, with the election results in favor of Trump, the administration seems to conveniently forget their previous rhetoric.
Let’s not forget that Biden himself campaigned on the notion that Trump posed a risk to democracy and was “willing to sacrifice our democracy” for his own gain. But now that Biden has dropped out of the 2024 race and Trump has been re-elected, it seems like those accusations were nothing more than empty campaign promises.
Despite all this, Trump still sat down for a two hour long meeting with Biden at the White House on Nov. 13 to discuss the transition of power. And according to Jean-Pierre, the meeting was “gracious” and “substantive.” But where was this supposed civility and respect for the democratic process during the campaign? It seems like the Biden administration only wants to play nice now that they have won.
But let’s not be fooled by this sudden change in rhetoric. The Biden administration may want us to believe that they have always respected the democratic process, but their actions and previous statements tell a different story. It’s clear that they only see themselves as the true “leaders” and anyone who disagrees with them as a threat to democracy.
Don’t fall for the liberal media’s spin. Remember Biden’s previous accusations and hold the administration accountable for their sudden change in tune. The American people deserve the truth and a fair representation of the facts, not convenient flip-flops to fit a narrative.
