Megyn Kelly, a renowned journalist, took aim at the “ridiculous pair” on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Monday, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, after their sudden change of heart towards President-elect Donald Trump.
After incessantly comparing Trump to Adolf Hitler and alleging he would be a fascist dictator, Scarborough and Brzezinski announced on their show that they had met with Trump for the first time in several years at his Mar-a-Lago resort. Kelly, on her SiriusXM show “The Megyn Kelly Show,” began by highlighting the hosts’ push for fear-mongering and telling them to “fuck off” for their insincerity.
Kelly referenced the hosts’ repeated warnings of a second Trump administration, saying, “That is where we are beginning today with the absolutely ridiculous pair on the MSNBC morning show, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. How long have they been telling us that he’s an existential threat, that he’s a Hitler-esque figure, that he’s a fascist, that women will die if he gets elected?”
She then addressed their sudden change of tune, calling it a “180” in their views towards Trump. “Well, they’ve done a 180. They’ve done a 180 as their ratings circle the bowl,” Kelly said.
Expressing her outrage at the hosts’ insincerity, Kelly stated, “I searched for a way to respond appropriately, and I called on my 10 years as a litigator in addition to my now 20 as a journalist. I think I found the perfect phrase. Go fuck yourselves. Go fuck yourselves, you dishonest jokes of faux journalists.”
Greenwald, a guest and independent journalist, chimed in agreeing that Scarborough and Brzezinski take the “crown” for being the most “humiliated and pathetic” pair in corporate media. “This is not hyperbole. Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski are the most humiliated and pathetic people on all of corporate media. I realize there’s a lot of serious contenders for that crown. So if other people have someone they wanna slot in number one, I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s unreasonable,” Greenwald stated.
He also pointed out their lack of credibility, saying, “Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski don’t believe in anything other than their own career and their own ratings.” Kelly then played clips showcasing the hosts’ support for Trump during his first campaign, only to turn against him after being rejected as his running mate.
Kelly criticized the hosts’ actions, saying, “These two, yes, worked day and night to try to get Trump the nomination back in 2015 and 2016. They embarrassed themselves and sacrificed any pretense of journalistic ethics in doing it. It was true bootlicking.”
Kelly accused Scarborough of turning on Trump after being rejected as his vice presidential running mate. She also shared details of their meeting with Trump, where they discussed domestic issues and expressed their interest in restarting communication with the president-elect.
In support of Trump, Kelly slammed Scarborough and Brzezinski for their lack of integrity and insincerity, calling their actions “disgusting.”
Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski have proven beyond a reasonable doubt that they cannot be taken seriously. They lack character – completely.
