Texas senator and Republican Ted Cruz is pushing for Joe Biden to be impeached because of what he describes as “stunning” government corruption revealed by two IRS whistleblowers.
Speaking out on his podcast, Cruz said, “These allegations are not coming from partisan Republicans, they are coming from career, senior IRS officials and investigators who are appalled — absolutely appalled — at what happened.”
Cruz claims that Hunter Biden had avoided taxes to an estimated $2.2 million, and that Biden officials purposefully stymied an investigation into any financial crimes. He then pointed to a WhatsApp message from July 2017 in which Hunter Biden allegedly wrote, “I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight.”
Cruz characterized the message as a “smoking gun”, and went on to say that “Joe Biden [was] abusing his government power to enrich his son, and, assuming 10 percent for the big guy, to enrich himself.” He also argued that “if [Biden] is profiting to the tune of millions of dollars from foreign nationals, he should be impeached, he should be prosecuted, he should go to jail.”
Cruz continued to blame Democratic politicians for not willing to investigate the Bidens, despite Attorney General Merrick Garland’s assertion that Trump-appointed U.S. attorney David Weiss had “complete authority” to look into the case.
“If you had a single Democrat who gave a flying flip about the rule of law, we would have a hearing right now with Merrick Garland in front of us, under oath, asking about this WhatsApp,” Cruz stated.
It appears that Cruz has made it clear that he believes Joe Biden has been abusing his power for personal gain, and is pushing for impeachment. He argues that Democrats must take action and investigate these claims in order for the rule of law to be upheld, and that any foreign nationals profiting from the president should bear the consequences.
If Merrick Garland really issued an order prohibiting further investigation into Hunter Biden's business dealings as the IRS whistleblower alleges, then I think there's real evidence that he's guilty of obstruction of justice.https://t.co/O1lXqhwNvZ

The final call for impeachment remains to be seen, but for now, it appears Cruz is doing everything in his power to make sure Biden will face the consequences for what he believes are wrongful actions.
Great news! I hope more senators on both sides of the aisle join the move.
