DeSantis Sets Dems On FIRE With Plans To Attack Border Crisis

Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis expressed his outrage on Monday during a press conference in Eagle Pass, Texas, where he visited the southern border to reveal his border security plan. Referencing the Biden crime family’s dismantling of border security, DeSantis stated, “The places we have a wall, I was there the other day in Arizona, they’re repairing the wall because they busted through the wall…That is unacceptable.”

DeSantis, a 2024 GOP presidential candidate, proposed that border authorities should “drop” cartel members to deter drug smuggling. “I can tell you in Texas they wouldn’t let you do that,” said DeSantis. “We will use all levers at our disposal to win the fight. If somebody is breaking through the border wall, which they are doing in other parts, demonstrating hostile or hostile action, you have to be able to meet that with the appropriate use of force,” DeSantis said. His views on how to tackle drug smuggling echoed sentiments similar to those already being stated by the left; if we allow one group of people to break the law, why should we expect any sense of morality or justice from anyone else?

This dire situation at the southern border has been caused by chaotic immigration policies of the Biden administration, such as rolling back the “remain in Mexico” policy and the abolishment of deportation proceedings by executive order. This has spurred a surge of illegal immigration and has led to dangerous consequences. According to federal data, Border Patrol agents seized more than 98,000 pounds of drugs in fiscal year 2022 and roughly 47,000 pounds of drugs between October 2022 and May.

DeSantis illustrated his stance on the issue using a powerful analogy. “I don’t see how you can just let them do that and carve through a wall on sovereign U.S. territory with a backpack full of drugs. Of course you use deadly force. I mean, would you let somebody just break into your house and do you harm? No.”

The governor does not appear to be backing down – and with President Biden’s policy changes making the borders more porous – his message of change needs to be heard.

DeSantis concluded that “if you drop a couple of these cartel operatives trying to do that, you’re not gonna have to worry about that anymore, they will not mess. They’re only messing with it because they know they can get away with it.” It is clear that only with strong leadership, strong laws, and swift consequences are we going to achieve any success at the southern border.
