Pizza Driver Swoops In To Help Police Capture Fugitive and cameras were there to catch it all.
For delivery driver Tyler Morrell, it was just another hard day’s work like any other – driving up to a customer’s house in Brookhaven, Pennsylvania, with their order of pizza. Yet, with seconds to spare he managed to make a huge difference in the community.
The local police force was quick to commend his admirable action, even suggesting he apply for a job with them. “Thank you sir for the assist!!!” they shared on social media along with the video footage captured from the homeowner’s doorbell camera.
Words of praise soon followed of Morrell, who should now be considered the hero of the hour. “I was raised to step in if you see something that’s not right,” the young man later reflected, “so I just wanted to do my part.”
As he pulled up to his customer’s home, Morrell spotted police cars chasing a dark-colored vehicle across the lawn of the home across the street. The sight of the fleeing suspect running across the street towards him didn’t throw him off.

With the pizza still in one hand, he retreated a couple of steps, giving himself a chance to come up with a plan of action. In an impressive show of agility, he darted forward and stuck his leg out to trip the suspect – all while keeping the pizza in perfect condition.
Once the suspect hit the ground a swarm of officers were on the scene to take him into custody. The police never gave details of the incident, leaving the whole ordeal with a bit of mystery.
What is known, however, is that the suspect being chased by the police was armed. The successful resolution of the case can be attributed to the quick thinking and bravery of one unassuming pizza delivery driver.

"I get pretty sick of seeing crime like that go on, especially half a mile down the road, so I was just ready to step up if they needed a hand, or a foot, whatever." pic.twitter.com/nIyVfNScWX

“Honestly, I didn’t really think about doing anything but stepping in,” said Morrell, recalling the extraordinary incident. He went on to joke how he was trying to make sure “the cheese didn’t slip on the pizza.”
When the pizza landed on the customer’s doorstep it was “completely unharmed and enjoyed.” Cocco’s Pizza definitely capitalized on the situation, joking that their Pizza Guy is “now available for hire for your capture needs.”
God bless him this thief had a gun could have done a lot of harm.
