A Gold Star father of one of the Marines killed in the horrendous Kabul airport terrorist attack confronted the Biden Administration Tuesday, asking why it had failed to preemptively take out the ISIS-K perpetrator before disaster could strike.
“Was the State Department running the show? Was it the Department of Defense? Or was it the suits in the administration?” Darin Hoover asked during a roundtable discussion about the 2021 Afghanistan military evacuation. “Sure doesn’t seem that way.”
Military intelligence had identified the suicide bomber, and possessed the capability to fire a drone strike against a hotel in which the bomber and an ISIS unit were positioned — yet the administration chose to do nothing.
“ISIS-K was our enemy we spent 20 years fighting, why was it denied a precision drone strike to take those individuals out?” the father demanded.
He then issued a scathing rebuke of President Joe Biden for asserting there were no objectives his regime had failed to accomplish.
“I say to you, Mr. President, you have 13 pictures that we have all named. You’ve got 13 that you did not accomplish. I know he cannot name one of them without a card sitting in front of him or a teleprompter in front of him. I say to him, resign,” the Gold Star father declared.
The State Department expressed condolences to the families during the roundtable, but stood by its decision to evacuate: “The right policy choice.” President Biden, too, cited evidence indicating the move was the correct one to make.
At the same time, though, there remains the pressing question of how 13 lives could have been spared if proper measures had been taken. Indeed, the Biden administration’s failure of leadership meant that no steps were taken to “precision drop” on the ISIS-K terrorists.
With that in mind, it is impossible to ignore that the Biden regime is responsible for the lives we lost on that fateful day in Afghanistan. “This is all actionable intel that we sat on but nothing was done. Why?” the father asked, a demand for accountability still unanswered.
I agree with Mr. Hoover and stand behind his suggestion that Biden needs to resign. Hell, I think he should be impeached but it would be nice if he saved us all the time. I’m willing to bet that Mr. Hoover is right. Biden couldn’t name any of the soldiers lost in his failed withdrawal without a card.
