Trump Prepares for the Worst After Verdict, Says ‘Breaking Point’ May Be Close [Video]

Despite facing the possibility of jail time or house arrest, former President Donald Trump remains calm and steadfast. During an interview with Fox News’ “Fox and Friends Weekend” on Sunday, Trump appeared unbothered as he addressed the 34 felony counts he was convicted of last week, related to hush money payments made during his 2016 presidential campaign.

But the charges laid against him have not shaken Trump’s resolve. He is set to be sentenced on July 11, just days before the Republican National Convention, where he is expected to accept the GOP’s 2024 presidential nomination. With the maximum sentence for each count being four years in prison, some experts believe that Trump may never see the inside of a cell.

One legal expert, Arthur Aidala, a defense attorney and former Brooklyn prosecutor, said, “I do not see a scenario where Donald Trump spends one minute in jail.” Though there is a possibility of a hefty fine or community service, Trump’s fate ultimately lies in the hands of the biased Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and Judge Juan Merchan, who have shown clear political agendas.

Citing the fact that Trump has shown no remorse and violated Merchan’s gag orders, commentators like Norman L. Eisen, the author of “Trying Trump: A Guide to His First Election Interference Criminal Trial,” believe that the judge could justify jail time. However, Trump seems resigned to his fate, telling Fox host Pete Hegseth, “I’m OK with it … Just the way it is.” He also stated that he has instructed his lawyers not to beg for anything.

Despite his calm demeanor, Trump warned that seeing him go to jail could be tough for the public to handle, saying, “You know, at a certain point, there’s a breaking point.” This sentiment resonates with many of his supporters who have been witness to the blatant double standards and political bias in the justice system.

The treatment of Jan. 6 protesters as terrorists, while the far more destructive George Floyd protesters were glorified; the dragging off of parents screaming for their children’s safety in bathrooms; and the lack of accountability for the Clinton Foundation’s mismanagement of funds meant for Haiti- all contribute to the underlying anger and frustration felt by Trump supporters.

Furthermore, the fact that Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee were allowed to settle the fake Russian dossier case for a mere $113,000, labeled as “legal fees,” shows the unequal treatment of political figures. Trump is right; there is a breaking point, not just for his supporters, but for the democratic Republic of the United States.

As Trump’s supporters, we have watched injustice after injustice, and we have reached our breaking point. We have seen our democratic Republic crumble under the weight of double standards and political agendas. We have seen Trump, the target of these injustices, calmly accept his fate. And it’s hard for us to take.

In the face of all this, Trump remains resolute, and so do we. We stand behind our president, and we will not give up until justice is served. As Trump said, “There is a breaking point.” And we are rapidly reaching it.
