Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy bravely confronted White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Thursday about President Joe Biden’s possible involvement in his son Hunter’s defiance of a congressional subpoena. Doocy, known for his hard-hitting questions, refused to back down as he pressed Jean-Pierre for answers on the president’s actions or lack thereof in regards to his son’s blatant disregard for a legal order.
“Do you think you’re making the right decision ignoring this congressional subpoena?” Doocy asked bluntly.
Jean-Pierre tried to deflect the question by making a joke about Doocy’s father, but the seasoned reporter was unfazed. He persisted in his line of questioning, asking whether there was any attempt by President Biden to talk his son out of defying the subpoena. He even drew a comparison to his own personal experience with his father, saying, “If I called my dad and said ‘I am about to violate a congressional subpoena,’ he’s probably say ‘son, you shouldn’t do that.'”
But Jean-Pierre continued to evade the question, refusing to give a direct answer. She simply reiterated how the president was “very familiar” with what his son was going to say today, and that he is proud of him and his progress in rebuilding his life. When Doocy pressed her on why the president would not pardon his son, Jean-Pierre once again skirted the issue, saying, “I’m just not going to get into private conversations.”
It is clear that the Biden administration is trying to protect Hunter Biden at all costs, even if it means avoiding tough questions and ignoring a congressional subpoena. This lack of transparency and accountability is concerning, especially for a presidency that promised to uphold integrity and honesty.
It is also troubling that Jean-Pierre repeatedly referred to Hunter Biden as a “private citizen,” as if that somehow excuses him from facing consequences for his actions. As a public figure and the son of the president, Hunter Biden’s actions have repercussions that extend far beyond his personal life. It is the responsibility of the Biden administration to address these matters and not brush them off as private matters.
Meanwhile, Hunter Biden faces multiple legal troubles, including a federal grand jury indictment for providing false statements and possession of a firearm while addicted to drugs. This is not the first time the president’s son has faced legal issues, as he is now facing a total of nine counts related to his alleged failure to pay taxes over a four-year period. And yet, the Biden administration remains silent and seems to be protecting him from any consequences.
The press secretary’s refusal to provide any substantial answers is not only frustrating but also reflects the administration’s lack of transparency and accountability. It is unacceptable for a government official to blatantly defy a congressional subpoena, and it is even more concerning when the president himself is seemingly turning a blind eye to it.
In the end, it is the American people who suffer as they are left with more questions than answers. As Doocy stated, “You’re going to call your dad Steve? … Usually dad.” This simple statement speaks volumes about the difference between a normal family dynamic and the Biden family. The president should not be afraid to confront his son and hold him accountable for his actions, regardless of their personal relationship. Anything less is a disservice to the American people and a lack of leadership. The Biden administration must address these pressing issues and not hide behind excuses.
Doocy is trying to have an intelligent conversation with one of the absolute dumbest members of the current regime. He does stand a chance of succeeding.
Dad, Steve Doocy raised a fine son in Peter certainly a world of difference in Joe Biden & son Hunter, I love the way KJP [the mop head] always refers the questions to someone else.
